Here are two weeks' worth of Daily Disney Sketches, as well as a sketch that I did of a friend.

I really enjoy following the "fuck yeah Disney fanart" tumblr page because it's great seeing such lovingly-created works there! Sometimes people can be such ingrates, though, so I drew this for the page's moderator as a thanks.
I've never drawn her before, so it was fun even though it was just a few sketches.
It looks like this is all I've done this year, but I have more that I can't show yet, ha ha ha.
I've wanted to do an illustration like this for a few years now! I call them "The Elles" because of the similar ending to their names. My original idea was to draw Ariel, Belle, Giselle, and Tinkerbell as students in each respective Hogwarts house. Since that sort of thing has been done to death, and I had so much fun with the Hipster Ariel drawings, I decided to go this route instead. With "Tangled" having been released last year, I added Rapunzel too!
I designed a cool hipster NYC apartment too, but I felt that the additional detail would have taken focus away from the girls. This background also makes it feel more like a set with my previous Ariel illustrations.
I love designing outfits, though it is often quite time-consuming. I thought it would be easy creating the color palette as well since that was basically done for me, but even that took far more effort than I expected. Luckily, Photoshop allows you to experiment with different hues and values easily.
There were a few things I wanted to add, but didn't, such as an iPod for Rapunzel and a vintage camera for Belle. Ariel's wave shirt is based off of Superman's "S" shield, and of course her scarf is Flotsam/Jetsam.
I was going to do color holds on practically everything for that Disney look, but it would had added a lot more time, so I chose my spots instead.
Pencils and inks below!
I really love doing these. Hopefully I don't get too carried away because this could go on for a while...
A couple of friends of mine showed me this image meme from Tumblr of Ariel saying various hipster things and it cracked me up.
The Little Mermaid was what made me want to be an artist, so I absolutely adore Ariel, Glen Keane, Alan Menken, Howard Ashman, and all of the other incredibly talented people that began Disney's animation renaissance.
I wanted to join in on the fun, but in my own way. I really enjoy researching clothes, so this was also a fun exercise to do in my free time. I plan on doing 6 or so, but we'll see! If more come up that I find are hilarious, I'll keep going with it.
I realized that I have yet to draw a happy and bubbly Ariel. Perhaps after this series!
Late Night Light Bulbs
I could have modeled watches if art hadn't twisted my hand into a gnarled monkey claw.
