I drew this as a submission to the MuggleNet's unofficial fan art book project. I had a lot of ideas, but when they requested more art from The Chamber of Secrets, it made it easier to lock in on one. I wasn't sure if I would use a lot of spot blacks or leave the line art open at first. I liked how my Inception illustration came out, so I decided to leave it open. I'm really happy with how this turned out. To make Tom attract a bit more attention, I turned his eyes red as a nod to his future form. I also hid the basilisk's eyes, not only so that they wouldn't divert focus, but also to go along with the idea that looking into them would kill you. It was quite the contrast to compare the inks to the final colored version. It's cool seeing how much color added in terms of depth, form, and mood.
I'm sad that the series is ending next month with the final movie, but I know I'll be glad to say that I was around when the books first came out in the future.

This was a fun commission of an original character owned by a guy named Dan Williams. I wish that every who commissioned me was as easy and fun to work with as him! He said her outfit consisted of a neon hoodie, a pastel floral-print short dress, and Converse shoes. He liked the look of her face and hair, but decided to switch out the shoes and belt for boots and an owl pendant. He also suggested a pose that looked like she was waiting for someone. After getting the green light on my sketch, I began work on the final piece.
