These are the characters from a story I'm boarding for my portfolio. I never really drew in Photoshop until this project. Most of the time, I used it to color illustrations that I had penciled and inked traditionally. Luckily I got used to it fairly quickly since I did have experience using a Wacom. I'll post the boards once everything's done and sent off. I exaggerated more than I usually do, which was fun, so I'll have to do it far more often. Click "read more" to see the rest of the sketches! Sarah, Chase's teenage sister. She was partially based on a friend of mine. Mom. She doesn't have any broad poses like some of these, but it's good to explore them anyway and get used to her shapes. Chase. I didn't like his initial hairstyle, so I changed it in the bottom third. I had a lot of fun drawing these poses. I have many young cousins whose energy served as inspiration. Meriweather. It took a while to come up with a strange and scary design for him. I knew I had it when all of my friends were creeped out by his small, black eyes and weird hair. He was tall and thin at first, but that didn't fit. I thought it would be more unsettling to see this hulking clown prance around lithely.
