Comic Artist • Illustrator • Ninja
I'm Peter Nguyen (pronounced like "Smith")! When I was a kid, I told my parents that I wanted to be an artist. They said some curse words, so we don't talk about it anymore. I love drawing because you can do it anywhere! I did it in church once and an old lady broke my crayons. Now I have to color on the computer.
UPDATE (05.17.2012) - New blog post of a portrait commission!
What is a "Rakuga Kid"?
It's a portmanteau of the Japanese word rakugaki (a scribble) and kid. I got the idea from Japanese artist Katsuya Terada, the "Rakuga King." There was also a Nintendo 64 game called "Rakuga Kids."
Why do I sign my art with "Pen Guy"?
It comes from the first two letters of my first name (Pe) and the first four letters of my last name (Nguy). I discovered that when I should have been paying attention in art history class.
...Apparently I have a thing for mashing words together.
